the idea for this piece came from thomas bernhard’s novel cutting timber: an irritation *.

a character in this novel, who is invited to an artistic dinner, constantly outpours his irritation to the reader from a chair. i thought about my own problems with the art scene and talked about this with my artist friend ece eldek who modeled for the painting.
